SNFC YB National 2009
As per last year I sent birds to the Scottish National Flying Club Young bird race from Leicester which is 318 miles to my loft in Aberdeen.
This year 5 were sent:
Su 09 AB 2142
SU 09 AB 2109
SU 09 AB 2153
SU 09 AB 2107
SU 09 AB 2117
The birds were liberated into a Westerly wind at 10am which is quite late for young birds having to fly 318 miles. But like last year there is always some birds that make it on the day and I was lucky enough to get SU 09 AB 2142 which was the bird we expected. She was pooled in the Aberdeen Federation pools and the Section and has scooped £580.
I think the Kingslea One Loft Race has done me a world of good and the racing the birds get gives them the experience to compete successfully in the big races.

Cheques have been sent to the winners and I look forward to your entry for 2010.

All 5 birds made it home a testament to their ability and courage.
