  • Rules 2010

Birds Only birds bred at the loft will be used for this race. No birds from outside lofts will be entered, this is to reduce the likelihood of medical problems occurring. For 2010 I will not be bringing in gift pigeons. I have arranged for eggs from White birds so that the raffle birds will be as near pure white as possible this should make it more interesting for the school syndicates. The birds will be owned and raced in the name of Coutts & McKay. All of the birds will be raced on the darkness system. Syndicates Each syndicate will have a maximum of 40 entries, plus one 'gift' pigeon. It is anticipated to have an Aberdeen Federation and a North Federation syndicate. If we fail to get 40 applicants for any syndicate outside entries will be used to make up the numbers. There will be no limit on the number of syndicates. Any individual, club or business can purchase a bird. Why not buy a bird for club funds? Raffle & Gift Pigeons It is anticipated that there will be one...

  • SNFC YB National 2009

As per last year I sent birds to the Scottish National Flying Club Young bird race from Leicester which is 318 miles to my loft in Aberdeen.   This year 5 were sent: Su 09 AB 2142 SU 09 AB 2109 SU 09 AB 2153 SU 09 AB 2107 SU 09 AB 2117   The birds were liberated into a Westerly wind at 10am which is quite late for young birds having to fly 318 miles. But like last year there is always some birds that make it on the day and I was lucky enough to get SU 09 AB 2142 which was the bird we expected. She was pooled in the Aberdeen Federation pools and the Section and has scooped £580. I think the Kingslea One Loft Race has done me a world of good and the racing the birds get gives them the experience to compete successfully in the big races. Thanks to all who entered the Kingslea One Loft Race for 2009, well done to all the winners. Cheques have been sent to the winners and I look forward to your entry for 2010. Bookings are now being taken for 2010. All 5 birds made it home a...
