Island Challenge Winner
The winner of the Island challenge is: SU 09 AB 2131 winning £50 for Clan House Aberdeen which was flown for H & I McKenzie from Orkney and only one of two timed in, the other being SU 09 AB 2142 belonging to Mr & Mrs Brown also of Orkney. Thanks to all the islanders for having a personal flutter for charity. I will get Marlene to post up a photograph of the cheque being presented....

The final race for 2009 will be from Scotch Corner a distance of 186 miles as per last year I am suppling a barbecue for visitors who have entered the race. Our first visitor Guy Stryker from Atlana Georgia arrived on Monday 24/08/2009. For those that may not know, this is provided the birds are liberated on saturday so before you travel any distance you may want to check. 01224 741028 Start time is 1pm finishing at 5pm. Charity Syndicate 2009
This syndicate is now complete for 2009 Kingslea 1 Loft Race where there is a guaranteed prize fund of £2400 for charities. Here are all the charities that have been donated a fully paid up bird for the race. The draw for the ring numbers was on 31st May 2009 and they have been added. The ring on the birds are closed rings which means they must be fitted at approx 7 days old and as the bird grows it cannot be removed. Explanation on how to read a ring. SU 09 AB 2101 SU is for Scottish Homing Union which is the governing body for racing pigeons in Scotland. 09 is the year of it's birth ie 2009.
